Mr. Holtsford is well regarded by the Alabama bench and bar. After serving several years as a director, Mr. Holtsford was elected in 2008 by the Montgomery County Bar Association as its president. His fellow members of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association elected Mr. Holtsford their president for 1999-2000, and he has served that state-wide organization as both an officer and director. He is a long-time member of the Standing Committee on the Alabama Rules of Appellate Procedure of the Alabama Supreme Court.
Mr. Holtsford has represented clients in the majority of all courts within Alabama, and obtained defense verdicts in dozens of trials, in a practice dedicated to the defense of civil litigation. Prior to entering private practice, he began his legal career as a staff attorney to the Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court.
In addition, Mr. Holtsford is a sought-after speaker for legal seminars, and he has published several articles in state-wide publications. Mr. Holtsford has also been selected in 2011, 2012 and 2013 as a Super Lawyer in Alabama for Civil Litigation Defense and as a Top Attorney in Alabama by Business Alabama. In 2013, Mr. Holtsford was selected as a 2013 Top Rated Lawyer in Transportation Law by American Lawyer Media and Martindale-Hubbell.
