Carla M. Thomas
Gulf Coast Office
Mrs. Thomas joined the firm’s Gulf Coast office in 2019. Carla’s practice focuses primarily in the areas of insurance defense and motor vehicle defense. Carla specializes in the defense of claims against individuals and insurance companies. Mrs. Thomas is admitted to practice in all state courts in Alabama. Mrs. Thomas is an active participant within the legal community. She is a member of the Alabama State Bar, Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, Mobile Bar Association, Mobile Bar Association Women Lawyers, and Baldwin County Bar Association.
Carla attended Jones School of Law. While in law school, she was involved in the Women’s Student Association and Future Trial Lawyers of America. She served as a research assistant and Barbri student representative. She was awarded Best Paper in Pre-Trial Practice.
Before entering the practice of civil defense, Carla practiced in the areas of criminal defense, juvenile law, family law, and probate law. She served as a law clerk to Honorable Robert H. Smith, retired Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Judge. She received her certification as a Guardian ad Litem in juvenile dependency cases.
Carla is a member of the Junior League of Mobile which has given her the opportunity to volunteer and serve her local community. She is a graduate of the Junior League of Mobile Leadership Academy. She is a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church.
