Russell is a native Mobilian. He graduated from St. Paul’s Episcopal School and the University of South Alabama. Following graduation from law school, Russell returned to Mobile, beginning his legal practice with the late, Honorable Judge James T. Patterson. During the course of his career, he has and continues to represent individuals, local businesses, and corporations in a variety of civil matters. These matters include motor vehicle litigation, construction defects, coverage disputes, premises liability, and Estate & Probate matters. His practice is focused in the Mobile and Baldwin County area, but litigates cases throughout Alabama.

Mr. Johnson is active in multiple civic organizations. He is married to Taylor Barr Johnson, a partner at the law firm of Burr & Forman. They have two children and attend Dauphin Way United Methodist Church.
