After graduating from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1979, William “Beatty” Pearson began practicing law with the Law Firm of Powell & Powell in Andalusia, Alabama. Beatty moved to Baldwin County in 1986 and has been practicing in Daphne, Alabama since that time. He practiced at the Law Firms of Dempsey Pearson, Pearson Cummins, Pearson Cummins & Hart, and has been a sole practitioner at W. Beatty Pearson, P.C. since 2004. During his legal career, Beatty has mainly practiced insurance defense litigation, focusing on automobile accidents and construction defects.
Beatty is a former city attorney for the City of Daphne. He is a former President of the Baldwin County Bar Association and was a founding member and past President of the Daphne/Spanish Fort Rotary Club.
Beatty is a graduate of Leroy High School in Leroy, Alabama and received his undergraduate degree in business from Auburn University in 1975. Beatty is a long-time member of the Fairhope United Methodist Church. Beatty has been married to his wife, Kim Merritt Pearson, for 35 years and they have three grown children, Gibbs, Greer and Forrest.
