He was selected to serve as President of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association (ADLA) from 1999-2000 and has remained active in ADLA as a member of the Editorial Board for its publication as well as a member of ADLA’s important Amicus Curiae Committee, which determines whether particular legal issues are of significance to the clients of the defense bar such that a brief should be submitted on behalf of ADLA’s membership of over 1,000 attorneys. Alex also is a long-time member of the prestigious Standing Committee on the Alabama Rules of Appellate Procedure of the Alabama Supreme Court.
